Email 12/8/2014 Transferred

So, not gonna lie, I am not in a super good mood as of late and I guess I'll start off with the reason why:

I'm getting transferred. Yup. I only am going to do one in Napoli, and now I'm going to Rome, which in all honesty was an area I never had, and still don't have, a major desire to serve in. Oh, and my comp is getting blown out as well. So, we are not super happy about this.

The main reason that this sucks, is because our three dates we have for baptism on the 20th. But I'll talk about that in a bit, so enough of my ranting and going off, I'll talk about things from home and then about how my work, or we should say my old work, is going.

Mom: Honestly, it's just the end of my mission coming around the corner, that's all. It's not that I'm homesick, just tired, and nearing the end. Working as hard as I possibly can right now, so I'm doing okay. You guys aren't that weird, believe me, so it won't be bad.

As for Skype, I'll let you know what's going to happen, because I don't know right now, so once I get to Rome 6, I'll talk to you.

Glad that Coda is doing better, and that he is his happy dog self again.

Zone Conference was all right. Learned some stuff, aka: Return to the basics, keeps things simple. I wrote some stuff down, but I don't have my notebook with me, so I can't say. Besides that, had a lot of fun with my friends, it was fun.

Glad that Festival of Trees was fun. I can't believe I missed you playing!!!!!!!! I hope you filmed it so I can at least listen to it when I get home. Sorry work's been so busy, but that in and of itself isn't a bad thing. It keeps us focused.

I really like the branch here. It's pretty cool. We're working on increasing member work, but we have talked to our branch president, and he is behind the missionary work. He just called a new ward mission leader, an American who lives here, so things will probably start growing quickly.

Dad: Congratulations! You are now done with school, and can finally move on to doing what you love: Whatever that is.  I don't know what you like to do anymore since I am not there. But congratulations anyways, it's super cool that you completed everything and did so well.

Both: Hey quick question, but I want both of you to work on this if you can. Can you guys look up information on BYU pathway? It's run through BYU Idaho. It's a college prep class that also can get you over into college right away. It's online and it's pretty cheap. We had a fireside on it here in Napoli, and I was wondering if you could look it up for me?

You can go to the byui.edu, and then look for pathway. If this is pretty good, I might go and do this instead of SLCC. Just wondering, keeping my options open.

Okay, so for my work:

Work was okay this week. Zone Conf, kinda messed it up but it still went pretty well.

We met with Claudio and Evelina this week. Evelina, like always, is ready for baptism, but Claudio is still struggling. He just wants to make sure that this is going to be a decision that when he makes, he's going to keep. So, we planned to just go over the interview questions with them, and then see the responses. I personally find both of them ready, they just need to get the courage!

And Sara is great as well. We taught the "rough" commandments aka Law of Chastity and Word of Wisdom. She was down and willing to try and live them as much as she could. We are going to try and help her stop smoking, and are going to give her the stop smoking program.

I should make a note that we also teach Sara with her mother and sister who are both investigators as well.

And yup. That's how things went this week.

I found this on my Facebook account and I am dedicating this to my son, Anziano Eads and to the wonderful missionaries in the Rome, Italy mission.  May when they feel lost or aimless, that they find and constantly rediscover their purpose of serving the children of our Father. May they find their melodies and figure out their parts as they bring these wonderful children of our Father to Him.  May they find out how to follow the Spirit and ring out to those searching and thus discover the beauty of a this life, that we are here to literally build, lift, inspire and help as we all seek to walk the path to return to our Father and Savior.  May all missionaries and all of us remember our part, our role to do the simple things of life to lift, inspire, and bring others and ourselves back to our Father. One of His greatest gifts is to allow us to go through this life together so we can do these things and perhaps learn a little bit of what it means to become just a little more like Him. Indeed this life is a Glorious and wonderful journey.

Napoli Zone Conference December 2014

Well, Anziano Eads has only 2 more zone conferences left before he comes home! It is amazing to us his parents, on how quickly his time on his mission has gone and flown by.  Two more transfers after next week and he is coming home, about 13 weeks.  It reminds us of how fast our own lives and time in mortality has gone and the important of maximizing our time in mortality.

The other thing of note, is from his email this week, Anziano Eads (Nathan) said he felt he has lost his sense of humor since he has focused so much on his spirituality. I am glad to see in the pictures that Sister Waddoups takes at zone conference to see that fun side of Nathan still come out. It tells me that it is still there and  part of him, whether he realizes that or not.  So here are the pictures.

I have to apologize as I have personally been swamped with ending my administrative program through Southern Utah University. That is completed so now I have more time so here is Anziano Eads' emails from late and pictures from their trip to Pompeii.  Enjoy! Nathan's Dad.

Hey you guys! How's it going? Sorry for the late email, but we went to the Napoli Underground. It's tight. Also, I may send two emails, so we can get ready for the Skype, call. But we'll see, because I have to talk to the others first. Probably more info next Monday on the Skype call.

Any who, home stuff first like always.

Mom: Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! Unfortunately we don't celebrate Thanskgiving here, so it was just a normal Thursday for me. I'm happy that dinner went well, and that you were able to cook everything at a leisurely(sic) pace. If you want, we can start doing that every year.

I'm glad you enjoy the Bose speaker. Bose is a great speaker brand, one of the best. I love their headphones that block out all exterior noise. They helped on the bus ride home in high school.

I will say that I miss the decorations. Won't lie, got a little homesick when I saw the pics, but meh! I'll be home way to soon, I don't have time to be homesick. They look really good! Sorry about the back though, just rest and it'll get better.

I'll actually shoot them (Kendra and Marcus) an email and let them know that I'm thinking about them, and to tell them I expect to see them at the skype session, and of course to build them up!

Coda better live till I get back! (Coda is our Beagle who has been having some major back issues).

I find it funny that Slle Perkins said that, when we had no interaction on the mission. She was supposedly one of the coolest sisters in the mission. I can't confirm that because I never served in the same city as her.

Dad: Only PJ's this year! Man have you guys cut back! Just kidding. It's better to get out of debt than to have special things for Christmas, as long as you have the spirit of Christmas in your hearts, that's what matters. Good luck with all those little projects you have going on! Things will work out!

As for a dry sense of humor, I have completely lost that sense of humor. I almost feel as if the mission has made me intelligent in spiritual things, but a I have lost a lot of my intelligence in temporal and human things. I have almost lost my sarcasm and dry wit! It's scary! (Dad: Look at the pictures from Pompeii, I don't think Anziano Eads' sense of humor is too far gone).

Okay so as for my work:

Things are good. Work is going along fantastic.

Claudio and Evelina have a baptismal date for the 20th and they will be great. Well, at least Evelina. She feels ready, but Claudio isn't so sure, so we're going to try and figure out what's holding him back, and then help him overcome his block.

But we have high hopes that they will make it, and at the very least, if only Evelina gets baptized then she will be an example to Claudio and that will help him to make his decision.

Sara is also doing well and making good progress, she also has a date for the 20th. She is honestly doing really well, she's almost a golden investigator. SHe's reading the Book of Mormon, praying, really content with the church. We have the date because we want her to make sure she has a great testimony and that it's solid.

That honestly about it seriously. Our other investigators haven't been able to meet with us. We not giving up hope however! WE are finding and contacting people to make sure that things work out.

Weekly Email November 24th, 2014

Taking care of things from home:

Mom: Sounds like you were a little busy this week. Grandma stuff, then getting ready for Thanksgiving, and then work, man, sounds busy. And thanks for the updates about Seattle, hopefully we can beat the Niners, and rub it in Dad's face again like last year.

Hopefully things go good for you and your company. Don't worry, I've got Dad's back!

Dad: Glad that school's finally over for you. Things should be better now that that's over.

Kinda scared about that vision you had....don't really want more than three...boh, we'll see what happens.

Both: Man, poor Coda, hope things are gonna be better. He better learn that he can't jump on me when I get home. So yeah, I'll try and send Pompeii pics later today, but we'll see.

And yeah, here's my week:

Great week! I'm super happy because of everything that happened this week!

Firstly, I'll talk about our three investigators who have accepted the invitation to be baptized.

So, with Claudio and Evelina we met with them and talked about praying, scripture study, keeping the sabbath day holy, obidience, and baptism and confirmation, and then invited them to be baptized, on the 6th of December. They accepted, but we may have to move the date a little bit, because Claudio is still a little hesitant about it. But we're certain that with time he'll come around. But things are going well with them.

Then there's Sarah. We met with Sarah and Rosanna last night, taught them the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and invited them to be baptized. Rosanna said that right now wasn't the right moment, but Sarah accepted, and now has a date for the 20th of December. She's really certain about this, and we're confident that she'll make it to the date. Valentina wasn't there, but the next time we meet with them, we'll invite her as well.

Besides that, we met with some of our less actives and new converts this week. We went with Nicola, a less active, and gave a blessing to his Uncle who is pretty sick, and then talked about faith with his aunt who was a little shaken in her faith. He then told us we could visit him any time.

We also met with Francesca, whose a new convert...or something. We talked about sharing the gospel, and how even tiny things can bring great things to pass. She liked it, and said that she would continue talking about the Gospel to her friends and the like.

And, yeah, that was our week. A pretty great week if I say so. The Lord is definitely blessing us, and we are definitley going to be seeing more blessings this week.

Okay, so here come some pics. Don't worry, I did some work before this, I'm covered.

So, here come some pics of L'Aquila, and then maybe Pompeii. One is a game we found, called Oddly Obvious, it's fun, and we should try and find it back home.

Next is a lasagna that I made, probably the best thing I've cooked in my life.

Then, there's the channel of 99 heads where there are 99 fountains. It's kinda cool, there's really only 96 three of the "heads" are just steel pipes....but whatever.

Then there's a Ferrari that we saw randomly on the streets. Pretty tight!

So there's a random one of Tew and Mika on the roof. Both are awesome, and cool.

Then there is Anziano Rigby. He was our district leader, and was a bit of a bum....at least in this shot but not as a missionary.  He's a cool dude, and a dragone.
